The grand finale of the cookery course was the cooking competition. There were six participants. They had balloted earlier for the meals to prepare which are: Spaghetti Bolognese, Pancit, Coleslaw, Chicken lollipop, Meat pie, Fruit platter, and two-tone rice with chicken sauce. These meals are to be prepared from start to finish. Marks were given for hygiene, waste management, time management, taste and presentation. Chidera Okoli emerged winner at the end of the exercise although everyone went home with a gift.
More Kudos from the participants…

The cookery course was quite eventful. Although I was the last to register, I learnt a lot – from the Spaghetti Bolognese to the Suya to the Pancit and lots of other dishes. I also made new friends. I am happy because I made my holiday useful by partaking in this course. I never knew that I could survive in the kitchen for more than an hour.

My experience, though short, was fulfilling. Every moment was worth it. Apart from learning new and beautiful things, I also got to interact with wonderful people and I felt the love and togetherness.
